It was never proven he was a schizo or that in anyway his mental illiness affected his art. He changed styles consisently and his last painting is of a normal cat with "im happy everyone loves me" as a thanks to all the people who supported him and his art.

The flowers got all trippy in the backround

When he lost his wife he USED PATTERNS AS A SENSE OF COMFORT. NONE of these are dated and when he was in the asylum he wasn't allowed to see cats.
