AIRE - *Major Update* for Italian Citizens Residing Outside of Italy

Показать описание
The recent update to the AIRE, a crucial registry for Italians living abroad, marks a significant shift in the landscape of Italian citizenship, particularly for those who acquired it through descent. This change underscores the importance of compliance with registration requirements, as it now carries the possibility of fines for those who delay or neglect this duty. The AIRE's role is more than just a formality; it's a linchpin in accessing a broad array of consular services that facilitate maintaining one's connection with Italy from afar. This development highlights the evolving responsibilities that come with Italian citizenship, urging individuals to engage more proactively with their administrative obligations to avoid potential penalties, thereby ensuring their rights and privileges remain intact across borders.

Thanks for your videos,

However, we need to inform everyone that many Italian citizens in the USA can't get an appointment to renew their passports or sign up with the AIRE because the employees are overwhelmed with work.

They say that they are short-staffed and can't handle the heavy workload, I know many Italian-American citizens in Florida who can't make an online or in-person appointment to renew their Italian passports or sign up with the AIRE, after trying for over a year or more!!!

Furthermore; the personnel at the Italian consulate will not answer any phone calls to try and assist with this massive website database appointment problem they make excuses and tell us to go back on the website over and over because they don't care about the citizens.

As an Italian-American citizen abroad, I can say that we have no rights and no one to call about this problem we can't get anything accomplished anymore and now they want to fine us for their lack of professionalism and dysfunctional services.

Excellent! Marco and his team are the best and I have referred many, many folks to him. This type of issue is something Marco and team are out in front as opposed to coming late to the party. Anyone considering Italian citizenship through decent...I highly recommend Marco and his team.

I am aire registered, I have an italian passport that I need to renew, I asked an appointment with the consulate 6 months ago, no answer for the appointment. I sent several email and called several times, I explained my sister is sick and I want to visit her.... they don't care, it is so frustrating. What a service.

Thank you for this video. I was not aware of the change. I am pretty certain I registered to AIRE in 2018/19 when I renewed my passport in 2018. I do remember having issues with it at the time. I will double check everything is up to date.

They also should make the requirement to join AIRE much easier. I have had a hard time to fulfill the requirements in the country I reside. They need a rental contract longer than a certain duration, or a job contract where your foreign address is stated, and of course it won't if you signed it when still residing in Italy. Some friends have been living abroad for years and are unable to prove their residency abroad according to current criteria.

Aire is a failed system that doesn't work. I registered with Aire online and was able to did the application to transfer my resident to UK but till now, after 5 months they never replied or did anything. I tried to call but non of their phone number is working. I will appreciate if anyone can advise me what to do.

My partner was born in italy but moved abroad when young and was not aware of these requirements until very recently. As such not registered, and doesn't have documentation to hand. Is there a way to request a certificate online, as this is required to register which seems like a catch 22.

I’ve moved several times…registration is easy. I don’t understand why this is such a problem.

@ItalianCitizenshipAssistance I am unclear on how fast you have to register if you move. My kids and I are registered in AIRE in the US. If I relocate somewhere else, like lets say, Austria, Do I need to register the day I move in? The day I get a residence permit? Do I have some leeway like 30 days to register? I am not clear on how fast I have to do it before there is a fine.
Please clarify!

My situation is complicated. I have citizenship by descent, was registered with AIRE in Miami, moved to Paris, registered there and have the certificate to prove it, and now am back in Florida and haven't updated since I moved. I am still technically registered, they just believe I'm in Paris. Can I just re-register here even though I moved before the law took effect?

I live in the UK but was born in Italy. I regularly receive voting documents for elections and referendums. Does this means I'm registered with the AIRE?

Hi, I'm a foreigner living in Italy and I have a problem in finding a residance. It's been a long time without residance. So I am not able to get my documents right. Can you kindly advise me if it is possible for me to register on a Aire residance?

Any perspective on the developing 'minor issue' application denials and recognition delays due to recent cassazione rulings (now 2 rulings)?

Thank You again Rafael and Marco for another Informative Video. Here's a Question. A person who from outside Italy obtains Italian Citizenship in one of a few ways and they live outside of Italy and then they go ti Italy for the First time in their life and they are either visiting or on vacation and do not overstay a time limit like 90 days if they are traveling with a non citizen who can not stay for more than 90 days, would the Italian Citizen who obtained Italian Citizenship and were registered with the AIRE in their country either have to reregister for their time visiting Italy with the AIRE or will they not have to worry about having to be fined? If the person will have to register with the AIRE that they have come from their home country into Italy, then how long would be needed before they would have to register with the AIRE that they are in Italy?

Do a video about the absurd time it takes for the communes to register you! They have up to 180 days to do that and some communes don’t care; impacting your AIRE registration.

Awesome video. I do not recall registering to AIRE when I received my citizenship from the consulate in Philadelphia USA. How do I check to be certain that I am truly registered?
