“stop infantilizing autistic people” and “some autistic people come off as childish, and that’s okay” are two statements that can coexist!

good children's media is just so comforting, i don't understand why society restricts such sweet things to a specific age... you're never too old to want to escape into a fantasy world where everything is okay once in a while <3

I feel this, i struggle with adhd and a little autism and it’s hard to be older because people always say I can’t do things that little kids would do… you are so amazing thanks for the representation

i’m sure the person who said “who’s that little guy?” very much supported your behaviour and was very much willing to go along with it

My favorite thing is watching people talk about how an autistic person should "look" or "act" like they expect everyone of them to be low functioning. My husband works with them and he deals with everything from "can't clean their own diapers" to "Just gets too easily overwhelmed." I really do feel for you guys. :/

I know this has nothing to do with autism but when I was younger and I would get new toys, my mom and I would play with them. It was like she was 9 years old again and it’s the most precious thing in the world. She always said that she didn’t get to enjoy things like this in her childhood and enjoys things like this with me. This probably brought us so close together and she is basically my best friend to this day.

Me, a grown-ass adult, going to the dentist, plushie in my arms, ready to watch PBS Kids while I get my teeth cleaned:

(Luckily, everyone there is very accepting and some of the staff even address my plushie by name.)

The people who shame you for having a stuffed toy are actually just the worst.
