House chose nights because Wilson would be home by then, and House probably had them conceal it on Wilson's side during day hours with a big printed board of Wilson's old wall. Wilson likely walked into his office, sat down, and focused on his laptop and/or notes the whole time. I mean, how closely do you stare at a wall you've seen a thousand times, especially if it's got bookcases and other furniture in front.
