Rebuilding an Abandoned 1963 Citroen 2CV Part 2 // Patina Resto Mod. This is the second part of a mini series VLOG documenting why Jonny Smith decided to save a car whose owner strangely disappeared without paying the outstanding bill on this resto-modded (and now beautifully patinated) suicide door 'AZAM' 2CV. In this episode you will see the 2CV's floorpan get repaired and repainted, then new brakes, suspension overhaul, plus a brand new wiring loom.

2CVs don't interest me in the slightest but I could not stop watching Part 1 and 2 of this series. Keep it going!

When modern cars are SO complicated, going back to something this simple is a joy.

I collected my 2CV last week from these guys. It wasn't sold by them, just left with them to mind while the elderly owners sold it privately. They are a brilliant group of people, and I will be buying my spares from them.

That indicator/light stalk is just a marvel of design. Incredible!

Johnny it looks like such a good project car. Simple, huge new parts availability and a big following. Plus, the product you're going to end up with is absolutely timeless. Highly motivating!

I have never wanted a 2CV. But I do now! Especially the corrugated van, but that's going for EV conversion, which is a great idea. Thanks Johnny.

Nice work. Reminds me of my 1970 Beetle and the work I had to do on her.
By the way. I am sorry, but the electrification of the 2CV van is an anathema to me.
Glad your staying old school.😊

Another great project. Just watched parts 1 & 2 back to back. Fascinating to seen just how little there is to a 2CV. I use to drive a mates mums one up and down their drive in the early 90s as a teenager when she was out at work. We covered about 20yds again and again in 1st and reverse!

I’m really enjoying this series! It was my Grandad’s 2CV that got me into cars when I was younger, so I’m really pleased you’ve now got your own to fettle with. Good luck with it Jonny!

I wanted a 2CV from when I went to primary school in the early 80's, I had a teacher who had a Dolly that was painted it like a ladybird, the paint was a bit naff but it was such a cool car, like nothing else I'd seen, but I was always told why would I want something so crappy! It has character and charm and they have that thing that we can't explain why we like them but we do! Same as people love steam, stationary engines or tractors. Keep being weird Johnny, I'm with you all the way. Love it 😂 #CMTMB

Amazing job they did on the body ! The engineering of this car keeps me amazing! It’s all kept very simple, the hinges, the light/ horn switch! But it’s hard to make a car this simple but so well engineered! Can’t wait for part 3 ! 👍🏻👍🏻🆙🫶

Another top video Jonny. As a 2CV fan of many years (more like decades) but yet to get one seeing the restoration and preparation for the build is both fascinating and educational for me. I look forward to part three. I have to take my hat of to everyone helping the restoration including the creator of the flap jack fuel.
