and I was a Hongkonger lost in Australia and still hadn't found a way out after 3 decades... Anyway, the lady from the boat used to put the processed fish in a plastic bag and throw it up. She can't do that anymore as a result of the plastic bag levy.

In Sai King, this is what everyone usually do. First, you get a group of friends to go together. Buy tickets for a boat trip to one of the outer islands after brunch for hiking or camping. When you get back in the evening, you either already caught some fish yourselves, or buy some at the shops around if you know what to get. Bring those to a restaurant and ask them to cook it. They will charge you a service fee. If there are enough people and you know the deal well, it can be a very cheap top node seafood feast, well, relatively cheap let me correct myself. When you are done with your dinner, there are a few very famous desert eateries on the other side of Sai Kung within walkable distance.

The down side of Sai Kung... there are now so many residents it is usually flooded with people on the weekends just like the urban areas. Not so fun to go anymore.
