The castle is called Shiprock. When it's raining and cloudy, it looks like a ship in the sea. There is another huge rock formation that looks like a whale near by.

I started watching Charles I think quite literally on episode 208 if I remember correctly... but fell out of touch with the videos around the 1500 mark. For some reason this series of videos has got me back watching and seeing the community feel in the comments is awesome. Everyone giving their advice, suggestions and sharing stories from all over the country. It truly warms my heart to see the ctfxc community flourishing and it's refreshing to watch positive people living life and everyone getting along in the comments. That is all :).

That castle rock is actually called Shiprock aka Rock with Wings. It's on my reservation! My mom told me that it was originally a giant Eagle that landed face down while hunting. I'm so excited about this because it's where I live. The Navajo Nation is Nizhoni!

It's a dust devil. You'll see those occasionally. A weird tiny vortex picks up dust and travels a short distance. They're surprising and interesting.

The rock formation I believe is called "Ship Rock" because it resembles a sailing ship. The people traveling out west by the wagon trains used it as a reference for their location on their journey to the west :)

In case you were curious those little dust tornadoes you keep seeing are called dust devils!! You'll see them all the time in the desert!

Since you're visiting Nevada, I definitely recommend Great Basin National Park. It's considered the darkest place in U.S. & the night sky is absolutely breathtaking. Plus there is more caves to explore. Something I think you both would love!

2:15 Wolf Creek Pass. That and Monarch are some of the steepest and hardest on a vehicle. Glad you're not towing a BA trailer.
When descending a mountain, you slow down and down shift. That uses your transmission as brakes.
4:22 The "tornados" are dust devils. They can raise dust several hundred feet.
5:32 That is Shiprock. All the tall rock formations in Monument Valley are volcanic plugs.
Be especially cautious driving through NM and AZ at night, people walk in the middle of the roads.

That area where the four states reminds me of this theatre/concert venue in my home town that sits on the Canadian border. There's a black line along the floor because one half is in the US and the other is in Canada! Haskell Free Library and Opera House

Watch out for your friendly States out west!! We are scheduled for record breaking heat!! 107.0 temps today and tomorrow! Then just broiling days ahead of upper 90's. If you keep driving west, you will reach our beautiful beaches! Freezing cold water, gorgeous sunsets, rugged coastline. Beautiful State campgrounds. Sand dunes with sand buggy rides. Huge population of food carts! Parks, shade trees downtown PDX.
