I ain’t black, but I’m korean and I’ve been hearing a lotta talk about korea wanting japan to send reparation money because of all the women they hurt in the war. And first of all, I agree that those women deserved compensation or even an apology from the men and terrible people who firsthand forced them into the camps, and s*xually assulted them. But does that mean I automatically deserve it because I have Korean blood and am a woman?? NO! I didn’t go through that hell, therefore I will not act like I suffered through what they did. I think it’s totally agreeable to honor and pay respects for what your ancestors went through. But if you are trying to gain something off of the pain of other people, when you damn well know you went through none of it, then that’s where it’s too far.
