In our headlines this morning... The US has brought more firepower to the Middle East amid fears of a regional war. Biden’s phone call yesterday to Netanyahu explained.

Sinwar is trapped underground, running low on supplies. And a question: Is God supernaturally preventing Iran from attacking Israel at this time?

Headline 1 USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier reaches Middle East amid fears of escalation

Aircraft carrier strike group to join USS Theodore Roosevelt. The US Army's Central Command (CENTCOM), which is responsible for the Middle East region, announced that the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, equipped with F-35C and F/A-18 Block III fighter jets, "entered its area of responsibility."

Iran will get the idea that the US means business. Therefore, no attack on Israel.

Headline 2 Biden’s Phone Call Explained

US President Joe Biden spoke on Wednesday with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the White House said.

In a readout following the call, the White House said, “The President and the Prime Minister discussed active and ongoing US efforts to support Israel’s defense against all threats from Iran, including its proxy terrorist groups Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis, to include ongoing defensive US military deployments.”

It does not seem that there was any great pressure put on Netanyahu to give up their idea of staying at the border between Gaza and Egypt or allowing the people from the south of Gaza to move north without checking for terrorists. These are two issues that are non-negotiable for Israel, as they should not be subject to negotiating.

Headline 3 US officials: Sinwar trapped underground, running low on supplies

According to the Washington Post, the Hamas leader wants a deal but is 'playing a waiting game,' hoping Iran or Hezbollah attack Israel.

US officials believe that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar wants to strike a deal with Israel since he is "trapped" underground and running out of ammunition and supplies, Washington Post journalist David Ignatius wrote in an opinion column on Wednesday.

With their desire for a deal to end their misery, Ignatius notes that Hamas is "playing a waiting game," hoping that Iran or Hezbollah will attack Israel, a move that would transform the battlefield.

This is an opinion piece which may or may not be true with respect to Sinwar's motivation. We do know that he is running out of supplies and ammunition because Israel has blocked off access from Egypt. Again, we will have to wait and see what happens.

Headline 4 Has God supernaturally thwarted Iran & Hezbollah from launching missile attacks against Israel? (Joel Rosenberg All Israel News)

Or is the attack still coming? Why is it taking so long?

He lists 3 biblical stories of God's protection to study and consider at this dangerous hour.

Joel suggests that the reason the attacks have not come is that the Lord may be supernaturally protecting Israel at this time.

While it is true, that the Lord in the past has thwarted attacks on Israel it is obvious that this is not always the case. He did not stop the October 7th attack or the April 13, 14 attack from Iran.

Therefore, we must be careful to assume we know the mind of God, we don’t. Paul wrote to the Romans.

Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways! For who can know the LORD’s thoughts? Who knows enough to give him advice? (Romans 11:33-34 NLT)

So we definitely pray for this possibility, namely, that the Lord will supernaturally protect Israel at this time.

However, we know from Scripture that the worst times for the nation are still ahead, namely, the Great Tribulation that will arrive immediately before the Second Coming of Christ. Therefore, even if a regional war is averted we know that Israel's future has some rough times ahead.

For a thorough explanation of what will take place, see our 12 books on Bible Prophecy from our website educatingourworld, especially the book 25 Signs We Are Near The End.

They are all free downloads and will explain what the Lord says that He will do at the time of the end of the age, before the Second Coming of Christ.

So, let us not be uniformed with respect to what the Lord says that He will do (1 Thessalonians 4:13)
