Total Solar Eclipse filmed on our front deck, just south of Richmond, Indiana, April 8th, 2024. We weren't really excited, nor prepared until just a couple of days before. Found the filters and decided we just might see what all of the fuse was about. It had been raining or cloudy most of the days prior to the 8th. On Eclipse day, we were lucky.

I used three cameras, my iPhone 13 Pro Max, which took the still photos, but never did focus on the Eclipse while shooting video, a GoPro Hero 6 for most the "scenery" video, and an old Sony Digital Video camera made around 2010. That shot the video that actually recorded the Eclipse occur. I was impressed by the video that old camera took.

Hi Mustang!!! It's Julie here! Wow I already love your intro music, very bluegrass haha. The sun getting mooned made me laugh so hard I had to get up for a sip of water LOL. Eclipse gum LMAO, you really like to sneak the jokes in there!! Hi little Freddi! I wonder if she knew the weather was about to be so weird. I can't believe she hasn't destroyed that stuffed alligator. Abra would have had hers in ribbons in minutes LOL, she plays wild! You guys really were in the path of totality, no wonder we saw nothing from over here in Florida. What a great view!

This is such an interesting video comparing 3 types of ways of filming! I really enjoyed this video, especially because we totally missed the whole thing in Florida. The Eclipse from 8 years ago or whenever wasn't anywhere near this big of a deal in North Carolina. It got dusky but never completely dark like this.

I don't know why the iPhone couldn't film better. It's kind of a crap camera in low light though. The Sony did a fantastic job! That was awesome! I guess between all 3 cameras, you are set to film anything - underwater, in the dark, anything haha. If we ever invest in a new camera for our channel, we're going to need whatever camera can handle low light the best.

Funny how your birds kept right on chirping the whole time. During the Eclipse we experienced in North Carolina a few years ago, we didn't get complete darkness, but all the birds got extremely quiet and even some night time bugs started buzzing around. It was so weird, and then a few minutes later, the bugs were gone and the birds were back.

Awww your Space Coast hat and your Playalinda 13 shirt hahahahaha. Perfect outfit to rep your friends in Florida who missed the entire Eclipse LOL. I'm going to find us some playalinda shirts one of these days!
