Learning about community planning through serious games

What can the co-development of a serious game for urban park design teach us about community planning? Turns out, a lot: understanding diverse park user preferences, facilitation skills, conflict resolution, spatial synergies and tradeoffs in design, empathy, and care. This video features students from Virginia Tech's Master of Urban and Regional Planning program, alongside high school students from the City of Roanoke who are learning skills to plan for the future of their own neighborhood.
