Why do you think the Philippines helped South Korea during the war?

Another thing to take note is that when Quirino ultimately decided to enter the war, he himself sent his son to the Korean war.

South Korean here. We respect the Philippines and its people. You guys are one of our best allies. Thank you from the bottom of our heart for sending help in defending our very existence. Your help will NEVER, NEVER, I REPEAT, NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. ❤

The Philippines is a lovely country and a great place to be. My interest is how do most of you guys make so much wealth, I'm just curious about the whole process. I still haven't figured out what to invest in yet.
Somebody once told me "It costs you more to be poor." 🤯

I am an American and my wife is a Filipina. We have a 6-year-old daughter. We were having breakfast at a hotel in Manila when our daughter was 2, and a visiting South Korean doctor saw us. He walked to our table and was raving about our daughter's white skin, brown hair, and Filipina eyes and bone structure. He walked away and came back 5 minutes later with a teddy bear from the hotel gift shop and gave it to our daughter. He wished us safe travels and exited the hotel. America, the Philippines, and South Korea have an eternal bond of friendship, and thank you again, sir, wherever you may be. 🇺🇸🇵🇭🇰🇷

I traveled to the Philippines about four times. The people were so kind, pure and optimistic. When I think of their smile, I want to naturalize to the Philippines. KR❤PH

This is not taught in Philippine schools. I learned of this, because there was a lot of korean students in Bacolod when I was in college. I befriended some of them and they told me about the help the Philippines gave South Korea during the Korean War, and that they remember and are grateful .

My grandfather, a major and batallion operations officer was the one tasked with the strategy for the final offensive on Hill Eerie. He was the one who gave a then lieutenant Ramos the chance to shine. I remember them meeting when they were both advanced in age. General Ramos saluted my grandfather, who was by then a B.General. My grandpa said it wasn't proper, as Ramos was already a former president at that time. I will never forget Ramos telling my grandfather: "No sir, everything I am is because of you efforts. You will always be my superior officer."

i was born 1959. When I was a kid, two most beautiful buildings in Seoul used to be those built by Philipino engineers. One has been used as the US embassy; the other was used by the Economic Planning Board. The latter is now the HIstorical Museum. The Phillipines will one day be a strong country.

Growing up in Busan, Korea, we visited the U.N monumental park in middle school. It's very common in Busan, and we pay our respects to all the heroic soldiers who came from all over the world to fight off a horrendous regime. We will thank the Philipinos FOREVER🇵🇭

I was here to say, "Do we love Philippines?" and as soon as getting the topic, I am here to say "we respect and honor them"

The fact is that the Philippines was once one of the wealthiest countries before the turn of the 20th century. We were richer than South Korea at one point. However, Korea really went into rebuilding their nation while the Philippines was unlucky to have had corrupt officials governing the nation and sent the country into chaos and we didn’t flourish like South Korea did. 😢

I knew the Philippines had sent troops for Korea, but didn't know they had assisted us in many other ways. Ok, it's our turn. We, or I will do what I can. Incidentally, I have an occasion to visit Manila in January. First time in my life to the Philippines. I will look for ways to do my part permanently.

I didn't realize all this had happened. It makes perfect sense though because Filipinos are some of the kindest most helpful people and are extremely brave. Big hug Asian homies! ❤from the States!

Regarding the Filipino soldiers, US Gen. McArthur said, “Give me ten thousand Filipinos, and I shall conquer the world!” This shows the highest respect to the brave Filipinos.
