I drove my VW bug for 19 years and loved every minute. Thanks to 2 Czech mechanics in Yucaipa, CA. it was the most dependable car I've ever had. Loved my bug and still miss driving a very small car. When I got a freelance job I added a VW van. But all the while I drove my van I could never get out of my mind the article I read in 1970 in one of the earliest consumer advocate magazines that labeled the VW van "the most dangerous car on the road."

Ok I have to say it. I really miss the old Kombi Life editing style. I still enjoy the videos very much. I just miss when it was about the adventure more. The channel has went very commercial. I will stick around but I would love to see some of the old style come back.

I found the "But WAIT... THERE'S MORE!!!!" infomercial style amusingly over-the-top. For me it looks like it takes a fairly unique person to deal with van life. "anyone" can do it so long as that "anyone" is the rare person who could deal with it.

Sure, you'll find a like-minded people as you wander the world in a van seeking fun because you're going to run into other people who are wandering the world seeking fun. If you spend time parked in Gary, Indiana or Birmingham and ask 10, 000 people you run into in various pubs to join you on your type of adventure, what percentage of those folks would take to van life even if you paid their expenses?

but this channel is a "self-selecting" group. You'll find lots of people receptive to van life subscribed to YouTube channels about irrepressibly fun-loving, good-humored, well-spoken, attractive people wandering the world in a van (or boat or whatever).

Sorry, this video seemed like a cross between Buzzfeed and a soap commercial. The great thing about Youtube is the reality of people making videos about themselves, this really misses the mark for me.
