Indira Gandhi once said “Even if I died in the service of the nation, I would be proud of it. Every drop of my blood will contribute to the growth of this nation and to make it strong and dynamic."
Indian Independence Day, celebrated annually on August 15th, marks a significant milestone in the history of India's struggle for freedom from British colonial rule. As a testament to this historic event, we at LITTLE SCHOLARS were engaged in a vibrant cultural program to commemorate the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters and to instill a sense of patriotism and unity among students.
This annual celebration is a spirited event that showcases the rich diversity of Indian culture, while also highlighting the importance of freedom, unity, and national pride.
The event began with a solemn flag hoisting ceremony, symbolizing the unfurling of India's tricolor flag by Principal Mrs. Shikha Gautam and Managing Director Col. Rohit Bhalla . This was followed by small welcome by the head boy Vansh Nautiyal accompanied by the singing of the national anthem, creating a patriotic ambiance that resonated with everyone present.
Event commenced with a skit on Unity in Diversity portraying the very essence of our multicultural rich heritage.
There was a competition organized among the houses which included an act, dance and singing.
Students sang patriotic songs and performed dances that evoked a sense of pride and love for the country. These performances not only entertained everyone but also helped patrons to connect emotionally with the historical struggle for freedom and the nation's progress since then.
Result created a lot of commotion among the masses. Yamuna house bagged the first position. Ganga house came second, while Krishna house were declared the third position.
Short skits enacted by students, depicted key moments from India's freedom struggle as each house had to portray one freedom fighter each. These performances offer insights into the challenges faced by the freedom fighters and their determination to achieve independence.
Principal Mrs. Shikha Gautam declared the result and addressed the students. Her insights added depth to the students' understanding of the significance of Independence Day.
The Independence Day cultural program at our school is a meaningful celebration that not only entertains but also educates, fostering a deep sense of patriotism and pride among the students. Through these performances students gained a better appreciation for the sacrifices made by their predecessors and the responsibility they hold in carrying forward the legacy of a free and united India. This annual event serves as a reminder of the importance of freedom and encourages students to uphold the values that the nation stands for.
