This was really fun! A couple of things:

The "comforter" and coordinating pillows actually are the cushion for the sofa/bed in the living room, and the tea set, phone and candy dish are supposed to go on the end table. This furniture was also sold separately during this time, and if you look at the photo on the box, you'll see what I mean.

Another thing: The insert for the planter box on the left section of the house is missing, I'm not sure if it wasn't included or if it just wasn't put in place during assembly.

If you have tweezers, those can be very helpful for placing the decals/labels/stickers on the various pieces. The curved tweezers that are often used with false eyelashes are especially useful for this. I always like to do a high quality scan of labels when I get vintage playsets that haven't been put together, so I can reprint them if they become damaged.

All in all, it was really fun to see this old set put together. I have the earlier version from 1979, but mine was not mint-in-box by any means, and required a lot of restoration to be presentable.

I was 5 years old in 1985. My best friend had this Barbie house, and I loved playing with it. I had several of the Barbie's shown on the paper that Hope showed us. What a nostalgic trip! ❤

So I’m pretty sure that “TV” in the bedroom that confused both Hope and Tyler was actually meant to be a VIDEO PHONE, which was a popular “futuristic/high-tech” concept in the 80s and 90s. You can even see the handset (like on old land lines) next to the screen and the little buttons for dialing, etc. If you’ve ever seen the original Total Recall movie, they have something similar going on. Hope this helps! ❤☎️📞

I was 8 in '85 and my cousin had this and I was soooo jealous! The Barbie houses these could NEVER! I don't even think they give details like the plants these days and you DEFINITELY don't get that many accessories. You got your money's worth back then. Now they give you a few plastic items and call it $200+. I can't believe someone still had this in the original packaging untouched. That is crazy commitment!!

This video makes me super appreciative of how much "behind the scenes" my parents had to do to have this completely put together under the Christmas tree! Talk about labor-intensive. Thanks Hope!!

I was born in 1982 and had this exact Barbie house. My mother assembled it entirely by Christmas morning, so it’s really neat to see this whole process of assembly. Tbh, I’m glad to have missed it. Looks tedious.

To have one’s own Barbie house was a real coming of age event. I remember we shamelessly played with Barbies till like 7th or 8th grade. To this day, I will play Monster High or Barbies and kinda enjoy it too. Idk why we think of it as ages 3-10. It’s a fashion doll!

My mom will turn 40 this year, I showed her this and her friend had the exact same doll house when she was young (My mom was low-key jealous of that) 💟 Thank you for making this video my mama really enjoyed remembering the memories of her childhood:)

I remember wanting this so bad when I was a child but my family could never afford it- so I lived vicariously through friends who had one. Thank you for bringing back a huge wave of nostalgia to me!! ❤

My mom was the diy queen back in the day! ❤ She couldn't buy me this house so she diy'd some accessories for me. She made my barbie dresses, a closet out of cardboard and little wire hangers from notebook springs. Amazing detail for my tiny Barbie 😍

When he said that little bug was in the box for 40 years I went “Impossible! I’m not that old!” And then it hit me that yes. I am, indeed, that old. 😅
I played with this house for years! Thank you for building it and showing it again! I also had the Barbie townhome at my grandparents and played with that one all the time on the weekends. So many memories! I hope you do the cars, I had that red Ferrari and took it everywhere. I also had a carriage that came with the Cinderella play set.
Also, Blinking Beauty, if you can find her, a horse that actually blinks would be perfect to round off everything! Lol.

I worked for a childcare center, and in 2018, we purchased a new Barbie Dream House for the center. I thought that one was nice, but this one from 1985 is way nicer than that one. I'm always so impressed with how detailed they are, and this one is so nice. I loved it had such a nice bedroom set with a foam mattress and a sheet and pillows and a comforter. And the flower planters were so pretty! It just goes to show how much better quality things were made back then. This set is 3 years older than me. Going to go watch your other video with all the Dream Houses!

I'm one of those moms who put this together on Christmas Eve! It took my husband and I twelve hours and we laughed, got angry, laughed more! Thanks for the memories! You are delightful!

This is my favorite doll house of all time. My cousin had it and when she grew older I “inherited” and I cherished it and loved it the rest of its years. I will hold a special place for this one!

You just made one of my childhood fantasies come true. I wanted one of these so badly as as kiddo in the 90's. It just was not to be. It's fun as as adult to get to see this stuff now . Thanks Hope. 🌈❤ Btw I love your "Fitness" Barbie outfit! You rocked it Hope.

This was so nostalgic. That was my Barbie dream house. I remember so vividly. My parents bought it as a Christmas gift. I showed my mom the video and she instantly remembered the dream house. Thanks for the memory. Love your videos.
