I have the box of the previous gen and the top is the same with the bumps. Unless there's a discount for the holidays, I see no reason to upgrade. It's nice Apple made it cheaper though.

Is there capability to plug in the ethernet cable into the Apple TV and directly into the back of my LG OLED TV because my Wi-Fi box is like in a totally different area of my home it’s not near my TV 📺 😢

Compared to the previous model, this has a 6% smaller surface area on the top and is 20% thinner and 51% lighter.

Is cable box needed if you have Apple TV box?

The new Apple TV features an HDMI 2.1 port for the best 4K picture. While this standard enables up to 120Hz playback, the Apple TV is only capable of 60Hz maximum. So if you have a 120hz tv, you'll only be getting 60hz from the Apple TV. A shame after the A15 upgrade and the 128GB model with the 1gb ethernet port.

Conflicted with getting one or not. I have Apple everything but using Vizio smart cast and hate the interface.
