I was actually there at Armageddon 2006, Richmond VA when that ladder spot happened during that match! The best way I can describe it happening in real time, was in slow motion but at the same in the blink of an eye! There was an immediate moan and groan from the arena as it happened. I remember sitting several rows up looking down and seeing him gushing the blood afterwards!😖 As fast as the blood happened, I knew that it wasn't any kind of blade job, it definitely was legit! The next day at school, I talked about it with a classmate of mine who also went to the event, and that's mostly what we talked about... Not the weak ass tag team main event with Booker, Finlay, Cena and Batista that night; it was the ladder spot!

armageddon 06 was the first ppv I ever watched. that ladder match is one of my favorite matches ever. it sucks that he legitimately got hurt but it made the match so memorable.

According to Matt Hardy, Joey didn't put his hands up to block the blow. So Melina saying Joey is the safe makes me think he should have known to do that. And since he didn't, why not? Did he just forget in the spur of the moment? Did he try to but Jeff jumped too early? Who can say? It just unfortunately happened the way it did.
