The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G, looks....Great! It's Specs, Display, Cameras, battery and features all seem to be on the right track, but honestly, I do think there'a a more fundamental problem..

The outer screen is what made me go for the z fold. i just love the idea of having the outer one and then flip it open

Outward folding is extremely vulnerable. If you don't like this 2 screen set up, get a Z flip instead.

The problem with the Mate X is that the weak flexible screen is on the outside - not great for durability

Usually I agree with you but in this case I do not
You said the Mate X uses the same camera saving the costs for other 2 but samsung offers them even at a lower price than the Mate X... and when you need to videocall someone you're stuck with that half screen on the Mate X (and the worst side because of the camera bezel)
On the samsung you can video chat on whatever screen you want
Then you said that the screen that folds outwards is better but it's flawed at the beginning because it's not protected and even if you add ridges on the borders you'll still need to put it in your pocket and will almost certainly damage it, which in Samsung's case is not a problem at all
Than the problem with 60hz on the cover display and 120hz on the main I could understand but the battery is not that big so supporting 2 (3 if you consider the main display as 2) high refresh rate displays is not really efficient I think... and you'll probably end up always opening it to use the bigger display so that isn't really a problem
I think Samsung has the right idea for how the foldables form factors should be until an easily bendable glass like material comes out that doesn't scratch even with a diamond

I have to say that I like Samsungs approach more. I'm scared that you can extremely scratch Huaweis screen just by putting it into a pocket because it folds on the outside.
