I think people get Nostalgic for that 2002-2005 period, AOTS and a play were fun, especially when Olivia Munn joined AOTS, but people I think forget that though AOTS & Xplay peaked from 06-07 that after 05 outside of those two shows the channel had nothing left but cops and cheaters. Though G4 started in 02 let’s be honest it really took off around 05ish

Then both shows went downhill in 2008, Xplay became serious, they canceled cheat! and made it a segment within Xplay.

This is when YouTube reviews were taking off too. So G4 really was only huge from 05-07 before they destroyed itself in 08.

Honestly a lot of YouTubers have been saying that G4 is just plain irrelevant. Other YouTubers are doing the same things they did and they're doing better on a lower budget, with fewer writers and in most cases it's one person doing all the things G4 does with a full crew. I really enjoyed G4 during my high school years and I loved Tech TV too. I watched Extended Play before it became X Play. To me G4 wasn't just a video game channel, it was a nerd channel but sadly when the channel started to bring in more shows like Cops and Cheaters and tried to be more like a Men's network to compete with the now defunct Spike TV, that was where the channel died. I still get sad when I think of where everything went wrong with G4 back in 2010. Now I'm sad because it's now going wrong again because they have a bunch of activists running the channel and trying to start Gamer Gate again. The vast majority of men are not assholes nor are they sexist and yet we are often told that we are just a bunch of assholes and pigs. I think we're tired of being demonized by the media, left wing politicians, and parts of the internet.

I had only remembered G4 when it was featured on the original Xbox Exhibition demo volume disks. On the special features it showed various of clips like xbox launch days including Halo 1 and others. Liked it for Nostalgia reasons which to this day when I think of the old G4 that is what I look on to as the best part of G4 along of X-play video game reviews they had.

I haven't watched other shows G4 had provided which is one I had missed out on during its run. Thankfully other channels that had provided the content i subscribed to is one I'll look.
