I mean maybe it's the way Lewis said it, but I get what he means though. Why wouldn't you want a driver's license if you could get one. Jack is clearly not empoverished, his family can afford to pay for driving lessons, why would he not choose to get his driver's license.

I'm 26 years old, male and don't have a driver's licence. Nor do I plan ever getting one, nor does it sound remotely interesting to have one. Unless there's a car that drives itself..

He might not have a listence due to health reasons for all we know. Maybe he has seizures or some other condition we aren’t aware of.
