The Darkest Disney Animation Ever: Mickey and The Mad Doctor (BANNED!)

Ok, there are quite a few really dark early Disney shorts, but I definitely think this one takes the cake as the absolute darkest one ever. But what do you think? And let me know if I should review any other Mickey Mouse cartoons in the future. Anyways, hope you enjoy the video!

A lot of Disney early stuff was edgy, violent, and dark. Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, or even Goofy’s Mr Wheeler…lots of darkness and violence. It wouldn’t be entertaining if it was clean and boring. If you can feel scared for Mickey, it was effective.

The darkest part to me is how Mickey leaves his dog chained up outside. Even at night, through a storm!

The saw with the blood is bone chilling, even if it's just a black and white chalk drawing

Considering that Disney shows/movies are based on vault stories with real life stories behind them. It is dark.

The first Frankenstein movie came out two years prior to this release. So I'm sure this was a play on that movie

I been currently playing epic Mickey and one of the two only shorts you can watch is the mad doctor and I must say it would of probably scared me as a kid, but this is a really good cartoon just so creepy. It beat hes it a couple years back wondering what Walt was on.

The World has always been dark especially in the turn of the 20th Century.
No lights, horse and buggy.
Back then IMO, many could identify.
