I really appreciated Nikolai Tsiskaridze' performance here - the wonderful floating ‘ballon’, turns within an unwavering true perpendicular and beautiful hands accenting the musical phrase.

Enjoy!

Love him totally. Such grace and sense of style. Never seen more graceful mazurka. Masculine and softly elegant. Charm of times gone by. One of my favorites by him is the dance of Carmen with a pink fan. Stunning. He was not trying to imitate a woman but spoke her troubled character. Genius. I think he was better than Zizi or Viviana Durante who I adored.

To me, the greatest and most exquisite, beautiful dancer of all time is Nicolai, and everyone else including Nureyev and Baryshnikov, come a distant second.

Beautiful as always, as a young student I never really fall in love ….. pure means more and so clear to the narrative, loved that era ballet was the story never the soloist, a collab met in tradition not a tic toc challenge multiple pirouettes and no soul x x loved this 😍

A dedicated dancer's medium and instrument is his or her body; the more diligently the dancer works to perfect this instrument, the more swiftly it is worn out. Fortunate it is that at least we have videos of them!

John, as you already know, I love Nikolai, he dances with such lightness, grace, poise,   expression, artism,  here has that Spanish flair that you see even more in his Carmen. He has a wonderful presence on stage, he is handsome, has beautiful arm movement, strong or soft, depending on the scene, can be tough (Rothbart) or gentle and loving (Albrecht), he can be very funny (Sylphida in Bright Stream and a clown in Golden Age), I loved him in Manon as Des Grieux and his Pique Dame brought me to my knees, I cried on Young Man and Death and Fallen Angel, was amazed at his Quasimodo  and dreamed of a prince on white horse in Raymonda.  His death  scene of Mercutio was pure acrobatics and incredible acting for such young at the time dancer, his Prince Desire' makes me want to fall asleep for 100 years and his Solor makes me want to go to Kingdom of Shades forever.  I missed many but that should tell you I am his fan. And he is not complete without mentioning that he has a genius mind, is a walking encyclopedia of literature, opera, ballet and art, has a law degree and is a gallant gentleman. And what I truly appreciate in him is his honesty, courage, stenght and integrity. I realized something, you have to have a beautiful soul and good mind to like him because than you understand him and so many people just see the surface.  How can anybody call him ugly? He is a doll, look at this smile, it can warm any heart, so gentle and real

Sorry about your shoulder John, I know it's awfully painful and seems it takes forever to heal. Swim in a heated pool with a "noodle" floating your upper body. Ahhh... I think Tsiskaridze is showy and wonderful. And I became his loyal fan when I heard he kicked out one of these self aggrandizing little choreographers who are the darlings of asanine directors everywhere from his apt because he didn't know who Ulanova was.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder?  I think he is very good looking, and has devastating charm!  LOL!   He has been a Great dancer, with truly outstanding arms and hands, and wonderful Rolls Rolls ease of movement, as well as being a fine partner and subtle actor.  As you say - his ballon here is wonderful.  Great dancer.

I think he's excellent - such ease and lightness and grace. I also think he's handsome. What fool thinks he's ugly/scary?

We should call Sasha Baron Cohen. If the rights to "Borat - The Ballet" are up for grabs, Ive got our lead cast already.

I adore Tsiskaridze. Thank you for upload this but I feel a bid pissed, one old moron keeps posting nasty comment about Tsiskaridze all over on YouTube. He should shut his mouth and should look at himself in the mirror :(

Also in Pique Dame he comes across as a masculine Herman when often he is portrayed as a mixed-up weakling.

His second position didn't look too good (leg height and alignment). Otherwise nice performance.
