The obsidian platform spawns randomly in the end dimension usually in the end island or float near the end island.
However it won’t spawn higher than the top surface of the island, this is so you never spawn near the top or above an obsidian pillar.

About the whole spawning next to X or getting in the Nether right near X, like I know these people are cheaters but the fact you spawn right next to a village doesn't have to mean it's cheating necessarily? If you find a seed that spawns you next to a village then isn't it still legit? Also nice video as always I love these fake Minecraft speedrun videos

At 6:45, it's worth noting that the lava below the portal has already turned to obsidian, despite no water being present. Needless to say, there was no achievement popup either
