sir in case of CaF2 the size of cation is greater then size of anion and you said that the size of anion is alway larger then cation plz help

Dear edupedia. Thanks for the explanation. Can you please explain that in last slide when cation/anion radius ratio is 1 then in that case coordination number should be 12 as in crystal structure maximum number was 12 because of same size of atom. In the case if ratio is 1 means atom size is same so in that case maximum anion surrounding cation will be 12.

why is it called a "ceramic" crystal structure? generally the word ceramic implies refractoriness and hardness. Does these properties have anything to do with the name??
