Part 2 on winter moisture control

In my opinion moisture control is far more important than wrapping your colonies. Wrapping your colonies and not providing extra sufficient moisture control leads to even more moisture in the colony and poor winter health plus gut issues.

I do not want my colonies to warm by wrapping. Obviously I do not want them to freeze but to warm can lead to more resources being consumed because the bees are more active and not in torpor.

Great Video, I do the exact something, I catch swarms in the spring, and I use a quilt box with a pine shavings in burlap. It has always worked great and with the mesh wire makes it easy to check food. I make sugar cakes with a little honey bee healthy and also hive alive fondant. Yesterday I checked them, my strongest hive ate the sugar block over hive a live fondant.

1:55 not to be mean buddy but you gotta do your research. Ventilating your colonies is one of the worst things you can do to them in the winter. I insulate not ventilate.
