I MAY have forgotten that the difficulty ramp also existed with Figure's heartbeat minigame (post floor 2 release, pre-nerf). Oh well, maybe when its reimplemented it will still have that function or it may be reverted to its previous form.

Also for the take on pre-nerf floor 2, my main complaint with the nerf is that for the normal gameplay (excluding boss encounters) is way too easy. I wasn't a fan of the entity spam present in Floor 2's original release, but the patch absolutely destroyed all challenge of normal rooms! Entity spawns should've stayed a little increased! I also didn't like the heartbeat minigame FOR HIDE, as well as snares spawning everywhere (as stated in the video, it would be much better if they only spawned in garden rooms)

i like the heartbeat minigame, its like figure is listening for your heartbeat and he just assumes its his own because we are matching our heart beat with figure's. i'm pretty happy its being reimplemented in a future update

Edit: for everyone saying "you cant control your heartbeat" i think we are calming ourselves down so our heart is in the same pace as figure's because figure is probably calm when hunting and this would also explain why guiding light says control your breathing instead of control your heartbeat

0:55 yea but its also only the SECOND floor, the devs said that theres gonna be even more floors after floor 3 so having just the second one be extremely difficult feels like a really massive difficulty spike for no reason

Garden rooms and rooms that are "outside" are extremely rare to come by, every third run or more. Event then, Rush doesn't always spawn in those rooms, which makes Snare obsolete. With the basement comparison, the basement is much smaller than the garden rooms, making Snare easy to maneuver

With Figure's minigame, it should defiantly be shorter. As with how Figure is now, doing the long minigame 5+ times because you just wanted to loot would get annoying fast.

The idea of Window being a threat would mean Window could only be a Hotel and Castle entity, as there's no windows in the mines.

I’m betting sally will act similar to a snare entity (dupe, snare, hide, those entities trapping you in a short cutscene for a few moments) where sally can be seen through windows, if too close, she’ll either trap you or blind you with a flash of lightning. Most likely doing damage as well. I feel like if the flash was implemented it would short circuit the lights in the room as well.
This is a great thing to work on, as it adds a new feature to the windows which have never really had much purpose outside of atmosphere.

i think the floor 2 nerf was ok because since there will probably be more than 3 floors, they cant ramp up the difficulty super high on the second floor

Cheddar balls, they removed the heartbeat minigame because it was very bugged as hide appeared at the same time. Essentially, if you went into a locker in f1 or f2 pre-update, you were essentially dead, because hide would kick you out while figure was still in front of the locker

I think since they re-coded the mini game it had to removed from figure as well

Though I hope it’s just used for figure since it makes no sense for hide honestly

Window Could also appear in the mines, See some mines rooms have the roof open. So mabye window could be up there

finally, some appreciation for window! hope it'll break windows or something like that, would be cool.

also, i think if they bring back the heartbeat minigame (for hide), they should make it 3 fails instead of 1, but more challenging. it'll be more balanced that way i feel like.

I actually think if they add the heartbeat mingame back they should add a different variation for hide where if you fail he gets angry like normal and eventually kicks you out but if you succeed he lets you stay in and when you get out won’t prevent you from getting back in but still I think it should be at least a little different from figures version

Something that I would love to see in a small Mines+ update is that, Doors 185-195 could be like the greenhouse, but it is an underground facility, resembling the old Mines concepts, and an entity we could find there is “Blind”, which is like the Snare of floor 2, but it makes you blind for 2-5 seconds, and it is a red virus eye, that can be found on monitors

Floor 1 isn’t hard, but the first version of floor 2 was so hard to the point that it feels like a final boss floor. At the time, I couldn’t even make it to the seek chase.. So that’s why the developers nerfed floor 2 a lot.

My personal opinion on how window could work is this;



After a certain amount of time, window will break through the glass and rush at the player. This could be an opportunity for another minigame. To stop window from breaking in, you simply have to stare at them until the next door is opened.
