After driving an 18 wheeler for 20 plus years I have heard them all, this brought back good memories thanks for the video.

I miss listening to my dad and his bros taking on the radio. My dad still flips it on every now and again but most of his bros are gone. Now my brothers and I are setting up our trucks with radios.

As a long time ham, ex CBer, and one who has used radio professionally in my career with the Coast Guard, I have never understood the need to use special "lingo" on the radio. I've always found that using plain English gets the message across without having to try to interpret what all that slang and lingo means. Yeah, I'm a grumpy old curmudgeon but, hey, plain English works!!

I always ran a good CB setup in my
Super Trooper cruiser . Most drivers were shocked it was actually me talking back to them . One of the very few things I miss about being a “Full Grown Bear”
“Got a full grown bear at the 107 yard stick taking pictures at you eastbound” 👍

Good things to know because I’ve found myself pondering what I just heard on the cb.

Enjoyed the heck out of this, Eric, trip back in time for me when I was into CB wayy back. My first CB's had 23 channels and put out 5 watts. I bought a new unit recently and am getting back into the hobby. I live in a rural area now and not much radio traffic except for some trucker talk from the local highways. A paper mill is nearby and a lot of wood hauling around here. I learned a couple of terms, new to me, from your video in reference to the linears; 'burner' and 'foot warmer'. I remember a couple from years back, when someone was putting out a strong signal they might hear "man, you're walkin' the dog", and if a fellow asked how well he was getting out the guy might reply 'you're putting about 6 pounds me', his meter reading. Thanks for the Sunday morning wake-up, enjoyed it!

I am just getting into CB radio. Ordered a President McKinley SSB, and a Wilson mini antenna. I am already in over my head and Amazon hasn't even delivered those yet. You should make a video for us greenies. You talk and I can understand what you're saying when you talk radio.

Grew up hearing all of this. So many conversations I've heard make sense now compared to 7 year old me.

Wanted to add, my dad had a cb and ham when i as a kiddo. Retired lingo I am sure now, was a "pregnant rollerskate." It was a Volkswagen bug. It made me giggle as a kid to hear that one!
