How to get the best sounding exhaust out of any VQ Engine...

In this episode we're going to be fabricating a custom catback exhaust from start to finish for an Infiniti Q50 (VQ35HR)

We're lucky enough to have Mike from GT Customs Oshawa, visit the HQ and create art and share his tips and tricks that he's gathered over the years.

We've implemented an array of Vibrant Performance products including our brand new Brushed Stainless Steel tubing and flex pipes.

Our universal components can be used on any car, and with any exhaust system to amplify sound, increase flow, and reduce unwanted exhaust rasp/drone.

The straight piping (and/or muffler deletes) isn’t the issue with VQs, Hondas or anything else. It’s the fact people don’t want to use a resonator to drown out the rasp, which is why you get cars that sound like a marching band full of trumpets. A good quality resonator and a good quality muffler go a long way

Just got an ultra quiet resonator welded in to my strait piped 350z. Took all rasp away and kept the volume of the single exit exhaust. It's the best sounding 350z I've ever heard.

I love Vibrant and their products. That was a masterpiece of an exhaust and it sounds nice without any rasp or drone. What some enthusiasts don’t realize is that the piping can make a difference in sound too. Most exhaust shops around my area do not carry quality SS piping . They have the aluminumized (not sure how you spell it) piping and man that type of exhaust pipe will produce so much rasp..lol

I run a Vibrant StreetPower Muffler on a custom Equal length 3in setup on my VQ38 powered Frontier. VQ sound without the VQ rasp and a nice DEEP tone. Takes on an almost inline 6 sound in the higher RPMs

Never let anyone tell you straight through anything sounds better than getting a chambered muffler that's mid mounted. Honda owners, stop doing big rear mounted mufflers and straight through anything, get a chambered mid mount muffler or resonator after the header and no muffler at the back . I HAVE DONE ALL OF THE SETUPS an thr one I have now is the best sounding . If you keep doing what the mainstream does you won't sound better .

Just purchased an 07 Lexus sc430 luxury touring car for most but for me Vip semi hot rod with my build setup that's coming.😅😅 My close friend who's now retired but by no means slowing down will be building me a custom exhaust from the headers back and we will be incorporating maybe two X-pipe in the 4.3l system he taught welding for 30y+ has and still drag races Harley motorcycles and has a huge CNC machine that looks like a time travel system at his shop. I think you get the Gist. Can't wait until we get started I just want the V8 to be heard without being obnoxious. I'll let him do his thing. 🙏⭐💯

Ive GOT to try and fit these under my Challenger. The Large single driveshaft is going to make it difficult. 130db cold starts at 4am isnt working
