A little shortcut - after starting the emulator from command line with -writable-system, running adb root, followed by adb remount, is enough to remount /system in rw mode. Thanks again!

EDIT: FIX = cold boot or restart phone multiple times, make sure its a full cold boot

I don't have a vending-all.tar.lz file in my Core directory. Instead I have vending-x86.tar.lz
I try
tar -xvf vending-x86.tar.lz
but it says "Unrecognized archive format"

Play store is already in Android emulator, it's just programmed to not open. Search Teemu Jaakkola emulator, and you will be seeing my second account video of it.
