Microsoft Azure VP Sees the Future of Cloud Computing

The Easton Technology Management Center’s 2022 Innovate conference featured an Innovator Spotlight with Gayle Sheppard, corporate VP and head of global expansion and digital transformation at Microsoft cloud platform Azure, to hear her perspective on the future of technologies like high-speed mobile networks, machine learning, AI, cloud computing and IoT amid persisting pandemic.

Sheppard observed that the world is in a democratization mode that presents huge opportunities to spread the use of technology at lower costs, and allow people who didn’t have access to data to share it and create a “one plus one equals three” effect. A seasoned startup executive and veteran of the first cognitive computing platform, Sheppard stressed the importance of understanding colleagues and customers as a corporate leader. She encouraged MBA students launching their careers, “Be curious, be always learning, have a growth mindset, listen well, lean in, ask questions, speak up, be heard, volunteer for the job and don’t wait to be asked.”
