I love how IGN has to pretend the unofficial English version doesn't exist when we know they've all played it. Seriously Nintendo, get your shit together and give this game an official translation. What's so hard about this?

Lucas's name must actually be pronounced "Luca" (リュカ) (althought it's written "Lucas"). Both Lucas's and Claus's name are from the novel "Le Grand Cahier", which was a the origin published in french. And in France, the name "Lucas" is pronounced "Luca" :)

Its too bad that Earthbound is so expensive for the SNES these days. I'd really like to play it, and I know you can download it on wii u, but playing ports is just never as good as playing games on their original console imo. I wish I knew Japanese so I could play the rest of the Mother series too lol! I hope IGN has plans to play Chrono Trigger as well, if it counts for this video series and they haven't already done it. If not, I'd love to see a series by IGN on old Square Soft games too! Anyway, I'd like to say IGN is awesome, and I have really been enjoying the homage you guys are paying to Nintendo during their big anniversary. GREAT JOB!!!

They're using the Japanese version. That's great. They should also play the Famicom version of Mother. We like to pretend that "EarthBound Zero" and the unofficial translated version of Mother 3 didn't exist.
