When you solve you own issues by existing.

Kinda like how instant, consistent, high torque is perfect for super heavy duty vehicles.

Or battery regeneration on an extremely heavy load carrying vehicle instead of constantly wearing out the brakes.

Saying "40 below" is so elegant because that is precisely the temperature where it doesn't matter if you mean Farenheit or Celsius :D

Ah yes, 40 below... the only time Fahrenheit and Celsius get along: the both agree it's really damn cold.

I know radiator covers are cheap and unlikely to break, but consider putting shutters, whether they are electrically controlled from the cab, automatically via the state of the generator/coolant temp, or manually actuated via a worm gear crank assembly, in front of the radiator so they can vary it as needed. I think the amount of heat you'll need to capture and keep will vary throughout the day and also depend on if the generator is running or not. If they are electrically controlled you can have them shut while the generator is off to keep as much heat as possible but open some to allow airflow for the excess engine heat when the generator is running.

People keep thinking that "electric" and "hybrid" in your trucks are for the environment, not for the power and torque. I mean, I'm sure they will be better on emissions and such, but that definitely feels like a neat side effect, not a primary goal.

You guys are on top of the designs. I do like your square body designs... Brings me back to the 70s and 80s. Don't need a smooth sleek look when your doing the dirty work. Hauling logs, plowing snow, or moving trailers around at a yard. Not to mention the many other jobs trucks have not listed.

I have a couple acres of undeveloped land in a light industrial zone, right next to the airport in Sandpoint Idaho I’m looking to develop. Lemme know if you guys want to start kicking butt in the States. Absolutely love everything you’re about, and doing!!

What's cool too about preheating the coolant Is that it will make turning the engine over when it's super cold easier as well

Hey chase- love the look of the new rig, do us all a favor, include all those marker lights as an option, not standard equipment, non-essential lights like that arent required but once they get put on the truck they HAVE to work or the DOT will tear you to shreds here in the states, lose a strip of 10 going down the side and theyll write you ten tickets, some guys think its worth the effort but for everybody else, yeah. You probably know this already but in case you didnt, hey, try to help the fellas out.

Here in Norway they tested a pure electric snow plough up on one of the main mountain passes last winter. Did ten hour days without any problem.

Im not a trucker, but man do I enjoy the stuff that you do. Keep it up, man! We need more vehicle manufacturers like you in the world.

If anybody was wondering if he meant 40 below for Celsius or Fahrenheit, it doesn't matter. That's the temperature where the different measurements cross over

This is really funny my coworker and I were just talking about the issues with cold last Friday. He makes a trip up to barrow just about once a week, and it's not uncommon for it to drop to -40 with a 30mph wind for weeks at a time during the winter. His main issue with Edison trucks being how they would handle the extreme colds.

40 below is the conversion point for Celsius and Fahrenheit I just love that that's the number you choose, because when you say 40 below, it doesn't matter it's just 40 below.

Electric powered gliders (yes, they exist) use electric power to keep the batteries warm. The gain in voltage under load is bigger than the loss of energy required for heating.

That's easy. Around here, we plug in our diesels overnight. You just extend the heating cables to the batteries. Problem solved until you get her running. Trying to get most diesels running from a -40 cold start is a real pain, especially for the older ones. Use cables. It's easy.
