How to find out your hair porosity:
1. Take a hair strand and run your finger down. If it feels smooth you have low porosity, a bit rough mid and rough high. This is not sure, I heard it but never verified
2. Take a hair from your brush and do it in a glass full of water. Wait for 5 mins. If your hair is above the glass you have low porosity, mid mid, below high.
3. Wash your hair fully and dry it without a heat hair tool but with a towel. If it takes 3 to 5 hours, you have high. If it takes longer but dries completely on the same day, your have mid porosity. If it remains wet or damp, you have low porosity.
Low porosity:
- closed hair cuticles
- does not absorb moisture easy
- easy product build up on hair
Medium hair porosity:
- easy moisturized
- retains moisture well
- ideal porosity
High porosity:
- Absorbs and loses moisture easy
- Looks dull and dry
- tangles easy
- tends to be frizzy

Products she uses:
Tessa's Amazon page:

RED FLAGS:

Hair wash:
Shampooing ends
Condition roots
Don't giving products time to do it's work
Not clarifying scalp
Brushing hair when it's not at least 80% dry (CURLY OR WAVY HAIR GIRLS HAVE TO ALWAYS BRUSH THEIR HAIR WET)

Hair oiling:
Brushing after oiling
Using scalp oil for hair and hair oil for scalp
Leaving oil overnight on scalp (except really lightweight oil)

Other:
Ripping split ends, not cutting them off, using products to "heal" it(it just sticks together, won't fix it forever. You'll have to buy it again and again, spending way more money than a single cut)
Not brushing from the bottom up
Not wetting your hair and braiding it before swimming (everyone please skip hair mask it's not good for environment)
Sleeping with wet hair
Not sleeping with silk bonnet and protective hairstyle
Skipping heat protection(only if you use heat or are in a hot environment)
Using heat on your hair(must blow dry? Set on lowest stand😊)

Bleaching:
DON'T:
Squize a lemon above your head (Extremely damage cause)
Apply lemon juice over your entier hair (Cause damage, split ends)

DO:
Squize the lemon juice in a spray bottle. Choose specific strands on the top of your hair and spray fully with lemon juice. Then stay in sun to dry and bleach.
⚠️ MAKE SURE TO DO IT NOT TOO MUCH!!!! ALSO THIS WAY CAN CAUSE DAMAGE AND SPLIT ENDS BY OVER APPLYING. IT TAKES TIME TO BLEACH ALL YOUR HAIR, DON'T BE IMPATIENT OR YOU'LL HAVE TO START AGAIN!
TESSA DID IT ALREADY A LONG TIME SO NOW HER HAIR LOOKS FULLY BLEACHED. DO NOT MAKE THIS MISTAKE PLEASE!

This took me a while to type but I really hope it would help! Always remember: you and your hair is beautiful the way it is! Don't force your hair too much if it really doesn't work. Genetics can play a big roll, so: never shame yourself for having differences to others! True beauty is in your heart ❤Have a nice day 👍🏻 oh and tell me if I forgot or wrote something wrong! I'll edit this comment😊

Correct porosity test:
You should wash your hair well, then dry it with just a towel and let it dry without a hairdryer or any drying tool ، If your hair dries completely after 3-5 hours, this means that your hair porosity is high But if it takes more time but dries completely on the same day, this means your hair has a medium porosity But if it remains damp or wet ( Not dry) This means you have low porosity
