Japanese housewife Yuri and I tried Singapore's newest Japanese restaurant. Umai is a concept by the team at Omoté, and it's the first Artisanal Udon Bar of its kind. While enjoying 4 different types of udons including the viral Himokawa Udon, we had a chat about living in Singapore as Japanese. What are the culture shocks? How is Singapore different from Tokyo?

Thank you Ghib san for your content. I used to work for the Japanese in the 90s and the cultural enjoyment today wouldn't have been thinkable years ago. The Japanese enjoyment of SEA cuisine and Singaporean love of Japanese culture and food was not so perceptible back then. Thanks for making it happen. Keep it up.

Yup its a good place if you love noodles! The service is also really fast and the prices are reasonable for its central location. They have calpis on the menu too!
