Good Grief that's a noisy receiver and you say it sounds better ? I'd return it, I couldn't listen to this.

SDR's need proper access to the AGC, go to any Kiwi sdr ( with a decent antenna ) and go to AGC and increase the threshold and you can see how much it will reduce the background noise or use SDR Console and you can make most SDRs sound really sweet.
