Maximillian Rudd performs Pantanal by Lucio Yanel

This piece is an example of violão gaúcho (gaucho guitar) by one of its leading exponents, Argentinian guitarist Lucio Yanel (b.1946). For four decades, Yanel has lived in southern Brazil and championed this movement of guitar, which takes the regional music styles of the border areas of southern Brazil, northern Argentina and Uruguay.
Pantanal is a mixed bag of gaucho tricks - it has elements of galope, chamarrita, vaneirão and chamamé.
