Chocolate Marble Cake || A family Favorite || Vintage 1963 Recipe

I am sharing this 1963 recipe for a White Silver Cake which you can use to make a chocolate marble cake.
it is one of our family's favorites and a cake I make often.
it keeps well in the fridge, is easy to make and requires no fancy ingredients.

ingredients list:
2.5 cups flour
1.5 cup white sugar
4 egg whites
1/2 cup crisco or butter
1 cup milk + 2 tbsp
1 tsp salt
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp almond extract

I have a marble cake story from back. When I was a kid, I’m talking the 1950’s!! A neighbor lady made a marble cake. Her young son couldn’t figure out why she was making a MARVEL cake. My mom was Marvel. We got such a kick out of that! She made several in her day.

So excited because I have that cookbook if I didn’t get rid of it. Will check to see if I can get it from the library.

Oh my goodness, I have that cookbook! My grandmother gave it to me for my bridal shower back in 1971! The cover doesn't last; it's paper and I do have the front portion of the cover but the rest is long gone. I'll have to try this recipe.
