I remember a man who lived several houses away from my boyhood home riding by with a brand new 750 the first year they were available in the USA.. I ran all the way to his house to see it up close.. he was happy to show it to me and I’ve loved it ever since. I’ve never owned one, but I would love to own one! Love this episode and all episodes!

I've always wanted to do one of these builds but lack the facilities to do it properly. Fortunately I can live vicariously through your channel & can't wait for the next episode.

Finally, for the past 3 years the only content I can find is smallerr engine cbs and all in in the 70s. I got an 82 750 nighthawk sc and cant wait for more content on these

This channel gets better and better! I have installed a GSX600R-93 front fork on my CB750-74 build. I first tried the All-Balls bearing swap kit, but the GSX steering stem was too short. I had to swap steering stems, the CB750 is 30mm in diameter but the hole in the lower fork brace on the GSX is 30.3mm. I had ream up the hole and make a bushing. But the front forks between CB750K and F could be different.

What a package of surprises. You'd have to have a death wish to ride a bike with all those sketchy repairs. Looking forward to the end the ride to get there.

Ooooo this'll be good. The knocking could be a couple of things, primary drive chain tensioner, drive rubbers in the main shaft or dampeners behind the clutch basket.... if there's a "rattle" that can sometimes be the starter clutch bolts working themselves loose or cam chain tensioners needing adjustment.... Vance and Hyde do their own chain tensioners - race quality.
Ive been slowly working on my own 82' 750 for bloomin years now and its still not finished with various things getting in the way.
More than happy to help you avoid mistakes I've made along the way. Especially if your short on time although ive not done an engine rebuild.
My inspiration was Hookie Co's build. They've done a few now but it was their first cb750 79-83 check it out, the one with the stripe across the tank.
Good luck
Pete

Happy Easter!
Nice one! Those crankshaftbearings needs some kind of "clay" to measure the thickness.
Those wheels can be made with spokes quite easily. Remove the rivets, make a ring that fits the hub. In that ring, you make holes for spokes. Find a rim and put it all together. Easy peasy!
Looking forward to the next film. Now it's riding time! Cheers!

I like to rebuild the 70s models myself watching for build ideas, but was hoping to see more of where you order parts and kits from so far.

My 750 makes the same exact rattle at idle. When i pull the clutch it stops. I read somewhere that this is normal clutch rattle, just the frictions and steels rattling on the aluminum cage.

I mean yea all thread might not be the right thing for the job but it’s more than strong enough and if it’s stainless or zinc coated it’s corrosion resistant. Overall the use of threaded rod is ingenuous for a quick fix.

If you want to change the rake of the bike, would cutting the head stem and rewelding it be acceptable or best left alone?
