He was innocent, his parents framed him from what I can gather from my research. I don’t know if he started the fire or not, if he did it was by accident. The evidence that was used against him was his parents saying he confessed in a private unrecorded interview. In an interview with the parents they seem to lack emotion and empathy about losing both their sons. I’m a firm believer that he was innocent, happy to know his sentence was greatly decreased. I’ve heard he was just released last year as well.

He didn't actually set his brother on fire intentionally. One day he and his brother were alone at home. Jacob was cooking something, so he left the stove on and went to his room after a few moments the house caught on fire, then Jacob ran out of the house in a panic leaving his brother in the burning house. Once he had came out of the house he realized that he left his brother in the house he tried to go inside the house to save his brother but the emergency services held him back and didn't let him go inside... And so his brother died.

But he didn't get 200+ years in prison he got sentenced for 15 years then decreased to 7 years due to his lawyers, parents etc. And he got out of prison last year in 2022 and he is an author right now.

Idk if this teen deserved this or not but its really sad to see him like that. He is really young to be in jail and that was the time when his life slide into his hands.

You forgot to mention he was Autistic & the parents should’ve been more responsible. He didn’t do it intentionally. I think they should’ve charged the parents with neglect on both Jacob & his baby brother. Get the real facts out there instead of spreading more rumors.
