Sevres porcelain and Madame de Pompadour - a match made in heaven! This week I look into the love story between the Marquise and King Louis XV, and show how their relationship is reflected in the exquisite works of art created by the Sevres porcelain factory in the eighteenth century.
I was lucky enough to visit the Wallace Collection in London, which has the most stunning collection of Sevres that I've ever seen, some of which belonged to the most famous Royal mistress of all time.

Escape to the chateau with ’The Chateau Diaries’ 🏰
In 'Sundays at the Chateau', chatelaine Stephanie answers all your questions about life in the 16th century Chateau de Lalande, in the heart of rural France ❤️

To experience chateau life, come and stay with us at the Chateau de Lalande! We offer accommodation in beautiful bedrooms in the original 16th century wing of the chateau. You can even stay in the bedroom of the Marquise! And in the evenings you can choose to dine privately, or to join us in our chateau family meals.
For rates and availability, see our website:

A very special thank you to all of you who have become Patrons of the Chateau de Lalande. I only launched our Patreon page 10 days ago and we already have over 100 patrons! I’ve been overwhelmed by your response, and am planning lots of renovations to the chateau that I’ve been longing to do for years! It’s such an exciting time for all of us here, as work is about to begin on the chapel and the dream of getting our lake back looks as though it could become a reality because of your help. On behalf of this beautiful chateau that will flourish because of you, thank you!!!

You are naturally born to presenting your knowledge and passion to people. This is as well done as any tv doc, yet much more compelling! Because its not an actor reading a script, its you and your passion . Your love of porcelain [and all things french and chateau life] comes through and thank you for sharing.

Stephanie this is my new favourite channel! I love your understanding of European history and culture. I love learning about the history of these wonderful designs and the drama/romance that often surrounds them. I wish my friends were into these subjects but alas they are not (they're still wonderful though!). I turn 30 next week and so I plan on entering my next decade of life with a fervour for history, art and culture. Thanks to your channel you have completely inspired me ♥️ from a new fan and namesake, Steff xx

I’m glad ur in London visiting the Wallace Collection. It is also one of my favourite place to browse when I’m around Oxford St. Shame the weather is wet. Next time when you are in London again, you could organise a meet up at interesting venue like galleries. Looking forward for your interesting video next.

I love your commentary on the Sevrés at the Wallace. Really, all your travel episodes.... takes me back to my days, when I spent my lunch hours’ walking the Wallace when working in Wigmore St.
I've enjoyed binge-watching episodes 1-100 today.
You are delightful.
