The Mystery of Stonehenge

We took a day trip to Stonehenge and learned about the prehistoric site. Stonehenge is one of the best known circular rock formations in the world. It has been featured in major action motion films to nostalgia-filled childhood cartoons. Join us our self-guided tour around the world heritage site.

Stonehenge is a prehistoric, neolithic (stone age) monument that was built around 3,200 B.C. It is a great place to visit for its historical significance. As a English Heritage site, Stonehenge has a wonderful welcome center with clean restrooms, a large cafe and souvenir shop.

I live 15 minutes away from Stonehenge, hopefully you had a look at the surrounding villages too. Beautiful countryside. The A303 that you probably came in on is an awful stretch of road there. 😍

You can see a nude naked Man( 180foot ) holding a club, it's said to be from the Roman times.its based at Cerne Abbots in Dorset.England and it's seen as a fertility symbol as the women in the Village can prove, visitors have said this as well.
In Kent there is also a large white Horse on the hill side and its supposed to be from Prehistoric times. I am sure there are more, if you search for these types of symbols. Best wishes to Everyone Sean Xx

Back in the 70s you could walk amongst the stones, unfortunately no longer.

Can I recommend a visit to Malta, which have neolithic temples. Actually the whole history of Malta is fascinatin having been invaded by everybody. Just a 3 hour flight and 95% of the population speak English.

Mac, the stones were not moved in the way you think

I have my own theory how Stone Henge might have been made. How about thick snow and Ice and stones toppled onto sleds. Ice runs and slide to where the Stones need to stand and bank up snow/ice and make large holes so when slid off the sled they slide down into and into the vertical position. Then fill up the top with snow/ice. Slide across the top stones in place. Then wait till Spring when the Ice and snow melts and Taarrah! Lets face it Mammoths only died out a few hundred years ago so could have been pulled by them or enthusiastic people or both. Just to add that is just an idea thought of and not meant to be taken as fact in any way. :)
