An amazing movie that did the impossible, the sinking of the Titanic, with no CGI, no digital effects, and still holds up, today, as a great retelling of the tragedy.

Never knew there was behind the scenes footage of A Night to Remember. Oceanliner Designs and Historic Travels need to see this.

I do love the attention to detail in the practical effects - the fact that the oars of the lifeboats are going at a faster speed so that the over-cranked film that will make the water and the smoke look slower and grander in scale will also bring the lifeboats back to realistic speed. Pioneering effects like these are so smart.

The model work in this movie was very impressive for its time especially the shot of the little lifeboat with the survivors and the oars are actually moving.

A Night to Remember remains the best film made about the sinking of the Titanic.

With those involved exhaling actual cold breath. No CGI here.

A Night To Remember is one of my favorites telling of the sinking of the Titanic. Looking at this is to see the people who survived the sinking the night in 1912.. My prayers goes out for the ones who lost their lives .

Regarded by many as the BEST retelling of the Titanic disaster on film (forgive me, Mr. Cameron but I'm still a big fan) but this BTS footage is fascinating. Great finally seeing it after so long. Always very fond of this version.

Easily the better version of the two biggest films regarding the tragedy. This “lost” film is truly spectacular, if only for documentation. Thank you for sharing this treasure.

I first watched this movie in the third grade in 1993 so that was 30 years ago and that was the inception of my fascination with the R.M.S. Titanic and it’s so unnerving that it’s going to be 111th anniversary this year for the sinking of the Titanic. I spoke with a corporate executive of the RMS Titanic Inc last year and she was in Belfast at the shipyards where the Titanic was built and she told me that since it was the 110 anniversary of the sinking. Thousands of people that we’re Titanic enthusiast’s and there we’re some family members of the survivors there at the exhibit. I watched on Twitter the videos of people who were visiting Harland and Wolff shipyards and the Titanic exhibit. And it was just making me teary eyed 🥺😢

Good old time movie magic. Never seen any BTS footage before, though I knew survivors were involved in it. Thank you for this interesting video.

This movie is so much better than the 1997 version of the sinking, not withstanding the fact that at the time they did not know the ship broke in 2. I always watch it when it is on.

One thing I absolutely love about this version was there was NO CGI involved, CGI hadn't even been invented/created at this time (not sure about computers either) and it gives more authenticity to the film. Whereas the `97 film was full of CGI effects!!

RMS Titanic sank and became languishing in the depths of the ocean.. but it never dies in people's memory..🍁

Seeing the clips of actors/extras in the water reminds me that Kenneth Moore (the star of the movie), being an experienced actor and who had been torpedoed (possibly twice) while in the Navy during WW2, dressed warmly under his uniform and jumped in the water first. It was bitterly cold and he shouted out to the extras not to follow him, but at least some did!

Wish the William Alwyn soundtrack existed so this did not look like A Night To Remember was an offshoot of the Cameron work. A Night to Remember is a stand-alone treasure.
