Today we're going to talk about how I became a recruiter, what my career journey has been like- and what I have learned. I hope the takeaway from this video is to be kind to yourself, NOT to expect perfection and to know that even people who look like they have it all together... often times don't ;)

Such an interesting and fluid journey! Thanks for sharing Emily. Good for you for pivoting right away when things didn't feel right in school and for following what felt exciting and enticing! Great advice for me to take in.

Supportive bank employer? Wish I work for one :(

Love your message about how it's never too late to change what you want to do, don't stay in something that you don't love!

haha I also used to ask for extra hw, we need a support group!

totally related to going from the panic of knowing what you don’t want but no idea what you do want to stumbling upon the path meant to be. I remember the feeling of discovering what programming even was in uni and having the “this is it 💡” moment. funny how things can work out once we stop trying to control them :)

thanks for sharing and take care!

Wow so great to hear your journey!

So funny that you went into fine arts and switched out so quickly & the process of how you chose HR 😂 I love how fluid your career has been.

That internship changed my career too 🙋🏾‍♀️🙋🏾‍♀️

I'm in my mid 30s and currently going through a crisis. I became a teacher, but quickly realized I hated it. Turns out I don't like kids much, and I'm not good at it. I still stuck it out for years but I realized it was causing me depression and anxiety attacks. I'm currently unemployed and have no idea what to do. I'm leaning towards secretarial because I want a job where I work independently (I'm introverted) but I don't know if I should spend two years going back to school or try to get a job with no experience. Every job asks for experience or schooling. I wouldn't be in such a hurry if my parents who are helping me out weren't senior citizens, meaning I need to figure things out quick. I sometimes don't sleep worrying about my future. I don't know what to do!
