How to Enable Dark Mode or Change Office Theme in Microsoft Excel?
Have you felt like changing the ribbon color or the theme color in excel? If so, its time to change. There are four theme colors in excel in case the default green becomes annoying. You can select THE Dark Mode, which is Black. Where there is black, there is white. You can even go for dark gray. The last and the default one is the Green, which is named “Colorful” in excel. So, in this tutorial, I’ll show you the built-in excel feature to change office theme in Microsoft excel or, in short, change the theme color. You can say change the ribbon color also if you want.

It’s so easy to turn on the black theme in Microsoft excel. Just click on File. Then click on Options. Now under the section “Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office,” you’ll find username and office theme. If you click on the “Office Theme” dropdown, you’ll find Colorful. This is the colorful office theme, which is the default theme for excel. Then you’ll find “Dark Gray.” This is the dark gray office theme where you’ll find most in dark gray color. Then you’ll find “Black.” This is the dark mode theme in excel. So, now you know How to Enable Dark Mode in excel. The last one is White. This theme enables a white ribbon in excel.

So, this dropdown is the only place where you change the theme in excel. From now on, whenever you feel like changing the theme in excel, you can enable and configure Dark mode.

The masterminds at Microsoft don't understand that the cells are still blazing white. I am yet to find a way to view the cells in that dark charcoal colour without actually filling them in myself, which then requires colouring the font & borders. Meanwhile, colouring the page on a Word document automatically changes view to allow a true dark mode work environment.
