Europe's most iconic mountain is a climate change warning l ABC News

ABC News' James Longman reports from Mont Blanc, where a glacier on the Italian side of the mountain is breaking apart far more quickly than expected.

Mont Blanc, the tallest mountain in Europe, located in the Alps between Italy and France, has become a symbol of climate change as its glaciers continue to rapidly melt in response to the warming of the Earth.

As the ice melts and falls, it creates a dangerous hazard for both locals and the millions of tourists who visit the site annually while also drying up fresh water supplies, said Fabrizio Troilo, a geologist for the Safe Mountain Foundation, an Italian-based organization.

When I was in elementary school in 2001 they told us that my home state of Hawaii would be underwater by 2020 due to rising sea levels caused by climate change now it’s 2019 and nothing has changed and we aren’t underwater. Climate change is over sensationalized to create fear.

Come on people, this is normal glacier flow!!! The more pressure on top of the mountain from fallen ice and snow controls how fast it moves!! Everyone agrees that the climate is changing. It is part of the earths natural progression. Question is how much do we impact it. If we were to drop everything and go green immediately at the cost of the world economy and probably many lives, and then we find out that we had little to nothing to do with it. Then what a waste it would be!!!!
