Megalobox as a series is so underrated. It is amazing at how simple it is and yet it has such amazing characters with their own "cliche" characteristics that are polished so so well that made them just amazing by the end of season 1 and that is without talking about season 2 which make this story truely a masterpiece in my eyes with its table turn of MCs life and making him grow in a way so realistic after his boxing days.

I just finished a rewatch of this one.
Yes it is.
Season 1 was good, a simple meal well made.
Season 2 keeps that same level of quality, perhaps even improves upon it, but also applies it to an incredibly well written character story.
Especially its first 4 episodes do a fantastic job of setting up the rest of the story.

This sequel did what a lot of other works are struggling to do which is being a relevant and thought provoking continuation of a story. We could’ve left gearless Joe in the glory of his victory but they decided to expand upon the aftermath. What happens after end credits. Such a powerful narrative with brilliant characters and striking animations. Thanks for the video Alec ✌🏾

Just finished season 2 today. Absolutely amazing followup to one of my favorite animes.

One really amazing storytelling point to make note of is how the story ended the same way it started. Joe wearing gear, duking it out.

Megalo box: nomad is one of the few series that i see that actually talks about ppl whos lives change after careers that are mainly for the younger from sports and e-sports players to young actors and a lot of idols age is a curse in these professions and is rarely addressed in media and that's why I adore it. It's also the reason why I adore the night of the galatic railroad arc in the act-age manga

Have you seen/read Ashita no Joe? It's the series that Megalobox is a tribute to and it's more or less like a middle ground between season 1 and 2 of Megalobox
