Mogg said, “Motel update: We have just employed a new chef for the Motel: James Ormsby. He’s from San Francisco and highly recommended. And as the Tonka Town Bar has just opened for our latest single release, he has created a new cocktail called Sunny Side Of Heaven.

I was figuring that after all that Apple Pie you might want to wash it down with something special, and as the Devil’s Angels in this particular song are related to a Mr. Way and a Mr. Chapman, it’s an ideal way to celebrate being on the Sunny Side.”

5th February 1979, De Montfort Hall, Leicester, United Kingdom….
The date and venue of my very first rock concert.
Girl, fronted by Phil Lewis, were the support band ahead of UFO - Messrs Mogg, Way, Raymond, Chapman and Parker - powering through a set hung around the ‘Strangers In The Night’ live album they were touring.
Tonka Chapman was a more than adequate replacement for the wunderkind, Michael Schenker, and the gig from the opener of Electric Phase/Hot ‘n’ Ready through to the last encore of Shoot Shoot was to these (back then) 15yo eyes and ears a life enhancing experience.
I’ve seen UFO many times since that first night, but that gig holds a special place in my heart 45 years later.
I’m delighted that Phil and Neil are continuing to make new music and I look forward to the album’s release next month.
