Oh God imagine Vader taking his last breath when all of the sudden Luke takes Vader’s brim (idk what its called the top of his helmet) and then places it on his head. Then the camera slowly zooms in on a smiling, yellow-eyed Luke, and then the movie fades to black. Roll credits.

That moment is probably the biggest moment in Luke’s life, he could’ve had total control over a galactic empire, whilst gaining infinite knowledge of the force (Dark/Light), becoming THE MOST POWERFUL being to ever exist. It’s literally like if Anakin had overthrown the Emperor in Revenge of the Sith.

I would've been all for that ending. And the final showdown three movies later would've been between Luke and Leah after she got trained in the jedi arts by the ghosts of Obi-Wan and yoda. The sequel trilogy may have happened only after 10 years or so instead of the 30+ years so they'd be young enough to still fight and the empire never fell. Wouldve been more interesting than the first order and all that nonsense thats for damn sure

i also read somewhere, that in the original script, rebels would fight 2 finished death stars, and after Vader's death, Luke would take control of them and kill Leia and other rebels. The movie was originally called "the revenge of the jedi" and it would be the bad ending for star wars
