Remember to also check the 2 fuses for the compressor to see if they've blown before splashing out on a new compressor .. and also remove both fuses before you start letting the air out of the tank to prevent the compressor switching on whilst working on the vehicle 👍

Yeah no... I get all that... how about getting into the pump itself troubleshooting whether the pump actually works or not so that you can rule it out keep popping number 27 fuses size 20 amp.... Disconnected the pump all material lights my windshield wipers rear lights for your tailgate etc all work without challenge once you disconnect the pump... It's kind of hoping this video is going to go over how to just test the pump I know what it all looks like anybody can figure that out by taking a few things apart. I'll probably be doing a video showing just exactly what's going on thanks again thanks again not informative enough.

I have an BMW X5 4.4i I used to here the compressor go off once in a while but not anymore. I replaced the air bag that where installed by my brother in law recommended? He installed them when I looked at the instrument panel it said check south leveling then he proceeded to tell me that most likely the air compressor is out I said well I’ll order it so I need help. Give me a simple fuse for the air compressors. I’m pretty mechanically inclined so I’m gonna do it myself but, any help would be appreciated.

Dear bimmermerchant, thanks for the info! I've found the
battery compartment is quarter-height filled with water. I don't know where it
leaked from. As results all those boards located just behind the battery a bit
lower, were soaked in water and corroded. Ever since my LCD went blank with
some few moments of little blink-flashes comes from it when I switch my x5 on.
My X5 is sagging right now; any help’ll be greatly appreciated!

hi,

my x5 2001 suspension is not working - the rear has dropped completely making it a very bumpy and often dangerous ride.

The issue supposedly started when one rear tire was changed with a slightly different sized tire (compared to previous and other rear side tire). I thought the sensor might be confused but after about a week I placed a new tire (same size) but suspension not going up.

Ive disconnected the battery and reconnected to reset - no result.

I played with the cylinder out of desperation, which burst open, meaning it was full with compressed air - giving me the impression that it is not a problem with compressor.

There is no hissing sounds or anything. The air is just not moving from cylinders.

When I start the car it seems that there is no 'new air being compressed and sent to the cylinders'. I believe its a sensor or fuse problem but not sure that is not giving any signals.

Please help as I am broke and just bought this car of a guy...

Thanks!

Is this X5 your talking about one with front AND rear self leveling and is the control unit for a 2-axle air system control unit still by the spare tire? I've heard 3 different things. One is it's behind the glove box, another says cargo area, and another is by spare tire. Can anyone confirm where the module is located for sure?
