Great vid once again. I appreciate these tips, even as a beginner, they resonate so much! The number one challenge of Magic is the performance, one thing you can't practise at home.

I play poker with my friends every friday night, there are cards on the table every week, yet I never do magic for them. I find it so much easier to do magic for strangers, or family visits, or anyone else for that matter. I'm too embarrassed to do it for them tho, and it's an odd fear that I am struggling with. Can you relate to this, and if so, do you have any tips?

Glad to have you back! I would like to add to the point of don't be afraid to fail. Failure is how you learn, it's okay to fail. However, have a plan of what to do when the time comes. Plan beforehand if you can, so you can better react in the moment.

Hi, 69 year old hobbyist here. Love the list, I’ve visited most of them🤣. Love the often untapped mine of magic books, always on the lookout in secondhand book shops. I totally relate to point 3, I see something and need it. Lots in the drawer never touched😖. Also obsessed with collecting cards🤪

About finding your style, I feel like beginners or people who didn't find their style yet, is to look at other performances, and see what you like, and what you don't like. Take what you like from them, and leave what you don't on the side, and you'll build yourself piece by piece... For example, do you like doing magic fast, or slow? Do you want to be comedy magician or more of a poetic one? Story teller or not? With music or not? And in the end, you'll have, maybe not the full character, but an outline, that sharps itself, and in the end, draws your character, the one that suits you!

Ive been doing magic 14 years and full time around 8. MAKE MISTAKES I think is the most important one. Never screwing up is not what makes a great magician, taking risks does!

I met Vincent K when he was 16 in Vegas, he got me with a signature duplication. Last I saw he was playing at the Sydney Opera House. He takes risks and they tend to give rewards but they also come with some pain-- if you can accept it and deal with it you can go so much further.
